I set my computer up and didn't realize that I was putting a password on my power on. I need to remove this so I can update my computer to windows 8.1 and then onto windows 10 before the free offer expires. Microsoft is helping me witht he upgrade but they aren't familiar with hp systems as far as the bios goes. I can't update as long as I have this power on password engaged and I'm running out of time. All I need is someone to walk me through it.
Well...just upgraded to Windows 10 and the update removed Beats audio, what a loss. How do I get Beats back, this is the best feature of the computer for sound. Can someone help.
Whenever I plug in my headphones, it says they are communications headphones, not normal headphones, (they are normal sony headphones) I am using a flatscreen tv as my monitor with an HDMI cable so the sound comes out of the TV speakers, but like i mentioned before, whenever I plug in my headphones, it says they are default communications device and won't let me set as default device, when i disable the TV speakers, sound comes out the headphones, but only web brower based sounds(Example: YouTube), if I try to play a game however, the sound of the game does not come through the headphones. I have updated the audio drivers to the lates version but that still didn't fix it. It just started doing this out of the blue after I had plugged my headphones in to the computer one day. If somebody could help me out, I would appreciate it.
I have a problem with realtek audio drivers. Somehow with realtek drivers there is no way to access the enhancements in audio devices, they are allways on. This makes everything sound like super compressed trash. Only way to turn the enhancements off was to revert back to the original microsoft drivers and then turn off the enhancements. Now HP support wants to automatically update my drivers to the realtek ones, the ones that have the enhancements on all the time and make all audio on the computer sound like crap. Nice job Realtek and HP. Hope you get your drivers fixed soon because with the realtek drivers the audio is unusable!
The sound works 5 seconds then it is fading to a very low volume.
Front headphone jack is now assigned as a communications device (basically call-center style headphones & mic). I am unable to use this jack for regular headphones any longer. I am unable to change the assignment back to simply 'headphones' -- the original setting when the PC was manufactured by HP. Also, Beats Audio (and its Control Panel) no longer works and HP has no software download for my PC for it ("cannot find .startup file!"). How do I reassign the front 3.5mm headphone jack to be what it used to be and how do I get Beats Audio from HP if their support website doesn't even let me choose the software?
I have a problem with the sound breaking up i.e. slight gap or skip it happens at random times do you have any clue as to why this happens its so annoying.
I also have this problem in HP Lounge
Sound level for the line in or microphone will not stay set. It keeps jumping back to mute and zero. Settings for sound out or playback will hold. I have tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling but the same condition exists. Volume for the mic or line in will work for a few seconds or a few minutes and then reverts to a mute status.
Any ideas on how to fix this short of installing a separate sound card. I'm using the IDT sound that is on the motherboard.

Not sure how it happened but after I turned on my computer and plugged in my headphones, the sound gets distorted. On speakers, it plays normally, but I've used brand new headphones and earbuds and the audio comes out strange. To put it simply, songs played through the headphones/earbuds have most of the sound filtered out so it sounds like karaoke versions. I've tried troubleshooting but my computer says there's nothing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
I have bought HO AIO6830e approx over a year back & since than occasionally & carefully . now for last few days its showing printhead has a problem issue, after logging in the problem now they suggesting replacement of printhead? that is quite high priced??
i was reading this here on forum that HP did change their printer or printhead even beyond warranty ... why not in India? i wonder if this the quite a regular problem with AIO6830e all across geographies than why not support to all customers.
anyway can anyone help..? what to do? amount quoted for printhead is more than the cost of a new printer???

I recently purchased the HP Envy and everything was fine for about a week; until I noticed that the audio in youtube videos becomes out of sync after about 3 or 4 minutes. I have dual monitors and usually like to play a game on one screen and watch a video on the other, and just recently I noticed the audio in the video did not match what was going on but the audio in the game seemed to be working fine. I thought it was just because I was running a game, but it even did it when I just wanted to watch a video. I tried restarting the computer and that didn't help; I updated the audio drivers and that still didn't help. I'm not sure if it is my computer or Youtube.
Hoping someone can tell me what file I need to download, or even if I need to worry about this or not

I recently purchased a HP34-a150 curved screen all in one. Wow was I impressed, Until the speakers (which are built in) began to emit a series of pops which cut out the sound. This annoyance began one week after I had been using and enjoying this machine. Spending nearly 2000.00 to be annoyed is rediculous, I have not found any answers to this date.
Is there a fix, do I send my machine back? I am not amused.
I bought my new computer from HP today. I have spent hours configuring it and downloading all of the previous programs I had on my previous computer. When I came in from work and found all my things had finished downloading, I decided to try out BeamNG.Drive as a test. It was then that I noticed I had no sound. I tried to troubleshoot the problem but all that was said was "the port for sound audio ius situated on the back of the computer". This obviously means that the PC itself has no speakers, but the problem is, there are no leads or cable even remotely similar to the Input and Output ports required for sound to come through. I am using an AOC monitor and I am not sure if that has speakers either. I have tried connecting up one of my speakers, which then solved the problem on the taskbar, but still no sound is being projected; even through the speaker. As I said before, I have not recieved any leads from either my PC or monitor that may work as a sound input/output. I have tried HDMI and thgis still doesn't work...
What can I do?

I have an hp pavilion slimline s5710 and i connect it to my tv through an hdmi cable and the screen comes up perfectly but there is no audio. It says it is connected to realtek high definition speakers but there is no option for hdmi.

I am having trouble with setting up my account on the hp connected music system. I had an account previously, however my laptop updated and I lost a few things. Everytime I try to either login or setup an account I keep getting a message stating there was an error communicating with the account service. My internet coonection is fine and I don't know how else to setup an account.
Please help me find a solution.

Ok i need help with my HP Envy Phoenix 810-130qe desktop. My pc came with Windows 8.1 Pro and it had a beats audio control panel where you could adjust the audio. When Windows 10 came out i upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and my beats audio control panel was still on my pc and was working just fine. Then when Windows 10 Anniversary came out August the 2 my pc automatically updated to the Anniversary Edition. Everything was normal, but my beats audio contol panel was gone and i could'nt find it anywhere. Does anyone know how i can get it back or if there is any drivers i can download in order to get it.
