The speakers function but lack volume in some areas. The speakers and sound card are HD Audio Stero Integrated Sound DTS Audio. I do not know the bit capacity but 24 is recommended.

I CANT SWITCH ON BANG AND OLUFSEN
I just brought a HP ENVY 32 32-inch Media Display with Bang and Olufsen and i am trying to swtich on the BANG AND OLUFSEN option on the screen for better sound but it wont let me why??

IDT High Definition Audio CODEC unavailable
I can’t use Skype for the below reason.
In the control panel, sound shows the below
(In Japanese, Micropone “Currently unavailable”)
（IDT High Definition Audio CODEC)
I could not select the mic as setting device, it is impossible to choose.
(Unable to select the gray out)
In some comments on the web shows that only one device can be recognized as “recording”, I changed the other device unavailable, but could not select the mic as the available device.
Even though property of microphone shows the connection of 3.5 mm jack in rear, panel, the connection of mic does not affect the status of “currently unavailable”.
I changed several jack on the PC panel, no status change happens.
Mic works when it connects to other devices.

Distorted sound
Distorted sound began 2 days ago. i have tried reinstalling the software and uninstalled. i updated the bios. i ran the hp recovery console to reinstall from scratch the audio. i have done the troubleshooting repeatedly. no avail.
my media player doesnt play sound right either does youtube. please fix this. my laptop is under warranty still. windows 10 came with it.

DC 5100 audio out died after speaker change.
Changed Monitors from a Compaq with speakers to a Dell w/o speakers and added a separate Dell Audio Bar. The speaker system checks out perfectly. But the line out Audio from the front panel or the back panel do not respond. I replaced the audio driver for XP via HP support download. But STILL not a peep. Can't even find the audio device via the XP control panel. I plugged it in ONCE ... and the speakers came up on the Control Panel Sound dialog box and I set volumes, etc.. But when I went to try it out. It died. Is the problem with the mother board OR??

Sound stopped working suddenly?
A couple of days ago, it seemed to be arbitrary while watching a movie I think on netflixs, the sound just started to shriek.
when I moved the mouse to bottom right of screen to adjust the volume, I found it had an x over speaker icon?
when I clicked on it to get to volume control, a audio window opened and a message that said detecting problem and fixing problems but nothing was resolved.
On the same speaker icon I Right clicked the sound option ad it states "no audio" for playback and recording options?
So I go to the Realtek audio manager folder to reinstall but there is no response?
I reinstall Realtek audio manager from realtek and still nothing?
So I end up here frustrated.
How can I get my sound back?

no sound when running ps4 through hdmi port
hi, i recently upgraded my HP ENVY 23 from windows 8 to windows 10. my problem is that when i had windows 8 and i plugged my ps4 into the hdmi port everything worked fine. now that i have upgradded to windows 10 i still get the image but there is no sound. is there anything i can do to fix this? thanks

Geen geluid
Sinds enkele dagen hebben wij geen geluid meer. Bij het icoontje van de speaker staat ook een rood kruis. Ik heb de drivers opnieuw geinstalleerd maar dit heeft tot op heden geen effect. Toch lijkt mij dit een software probleem. Wie heeft goede tips?

Blue Volume Popup on Desktop that won't go away
Yes this is an old computer but I need something that runs Win 7. Anyway I replaced the old HP keyboard with a new HP keyboard and then got a “Volume” popup that indicates that it is a volume control. I have provided a screen shot at: goo.gl/05QNcb so you can see what it looks like.
The volume control isn’t real as the curser moves behind it and when I went to make a print screen image of it, the image didn’t show it, just the desktop without the pop up. I reattached the old keyboard, but that didn't help. I have looked at config sound and there is no unusual option there. I have rebooted and hard rebooted to no avail.
I haven’t been able to find anything in search on the internet that is the same issue, so am hoping that someone here has had the same issue and can help.

After Window Anniversary edition upgrade
After Window Anniversary edition upgrade, beats audio is gone, speaker jack does not override the pc speakers anymore, and my plug in speaker system sounds horrible.

Low Audio After Windows Anniversary Update
My audio worked fine until last week when the wonderful folks at MS decided it was time my computer upgraded to the anniversary edition. Since then I have about 10% the volume.
What I have tried:
1. Maxed out ALL settings for volume everywhere.
2. Updated drivers.
3. Uninstalled and re-installed drivers.
4. Tried the generic drivers from MS.
5. Tried downloading and re-installind the BEATS application... which failed as it said my hardware didn't support it (though I seem to recall having beats before?!)
HELP! The volume is low (maybe 10%) everywhere... videos... applications... games... etc...

Sound no longer works
I purchased this PC in Dec. 2015. soon took the free upgrade to Windows 10 as it came with Win t. For a long time everything was great but now I have no sound! Problem started mid September,2016. I checked for sound device and driver updates but all are up to date. My troubleshoot says everything is working fine! I read on MS support that I should remove drivers and restart windows 10 but don't know which drivers or even how to do this. What does restart windows 10 mean? Just reboot? Please help!

Internal Speakers Continue to Work After Connecting External Speakers or Headset
I have had this desktop for years without any issues. I use external speakers connected to the audio jack in the back. Once you plug in external speakers (or headset), the internal speakers get disabled as expected.
Last night my PC automatically installed the Windows Anniversary Update (Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607). After this update, now both my internal speakers and external speakers are working at the same time! I cannot seem to disable the internal speakers without also disabling my external speakers. Lowering the volume affects both sets of speakers as well. I tried disabling audio and re-enabling but that didn’t help.
How can I get back to my original audio behavior where connecting the external speakers (or headset) to the back 3.5mm jack would automatically disable the internal speakers? Thanks.

I reinstalled windows on my computer and now i have no sound and it says no audio output device installed on the right bottom corner where the volume controls are.

Beats Uninstalled
I factory reset my computor and now the beats audio drive(i am not sure if it was the main audio driver but it was pre-installed) is gone there is a red X beside the speaker and when i hover over it says no audio output device is installed.

Subwoofer was working before Windows 10 upgrade (that was forced on my by the way..thanks MicroSoft).

Sound distorted after Windows Anniverary Update
After the Windows Anniversary update, my audio has been completely distorted. I've been troubleshooting this problem for weeks. I've updated the audio driver (RealTek) multiple times, and the problem still recurs. I've spent multiple hours with Microsoft tech support with them remotely trying to troubleshoot the problem only to have them prove their incompetence. There should be a simple solution to this. I need my computer's sound, as I am a composer.

Beats audio probleem
Hallo,
Afgelopen maand heb ik een update gehad op mijn laptop, na de update bleek dat het geluid via de koptelefoon uitgang dat naar mijn stereo toren gaat waardeloos klonk. ( dit was voor de update goed) Ik regelde het geluid altijd via het beats audio programma wat standaard op mijn laptop stond. Maar na de update was dit programma weg??? Ik denk dat dit ook de oorzaak is van het minder mooie geluid uit mijn koptelefoon uitgang.
Wie kan mij helpen met het beats audio programma weer op mijn laptop te krijgen? ( mischien staat het er nog op, dat ik het mischien moet inschakelen??)

Have HP f2105 volume control box
I have HP f2105 monitor. A volume control box shows up that I cannot get to close. Once in a while pressing the "menu" button will close it. Anyone know how I can get rid of it?
