google doesnt fill the screen

hi just recieved a pavilion   amd a8 with radeon graphics

the screen on google doesnt fit full screen even though it is ticked on the radeon interface guide

the internet screens are centred with white blank areas of 1.5inch either side 

how can it be made to fit the screen

also some of the metro tiles are very dark and jerky when they open

is this related?
