I have just bought a new Pavilion 500-250ea desktop + Pavilion 22xi screen. Nice, but......
The screen has 4 pre-set resolutions. Given my rather ageing eyesight <g> the default 1920x1080 is far too small, almost unreadable even with my glasses! 1600x900 is passable, but still a bit of a strain, so I went instead for 1280x720 which is fine. 1024x768 is really too big and 'clunky'.
Problem is.....many of the Windows apps refuse to run at 1280x720, nor will the CyberLink DVD burning software which was supplied by HP with the desktop :-(
Why is this? What is the point of HP supplying monitors with specific resolutions if they can't be used with PC from the same consumer range? Why should the resolution make any difference anyway - the screen image perhaps may come out a little distorted, but so what as long as users can read it?
Curiously, when setting the 1280x720 resolution the display software warns that this is a 'smaller' resolution than 1024x768 - how can that be, when the former equates to 921600 and the latter only 786432 ?
