I have an HP Pavilion a6645f Desktop. It is running off of Windows Vista Home Premium. The problem that I'm having is that sound isn't working with programs like iTunes as well as Windows Media Player. It also doesn't work on Internet Exploorer. The sound only works on one program. That program is Skype. I had this problem once on a laptop and reloaded the sound drivers. That fixed the problem on that computer. I tried the same on this desktop. The file I loaded was the Fall 2008 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Driver. Here is the link to where I got the files from: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3820313#N1137 . I restarted the computer after and am still having the same problems. Any suggestions. I know the speakers work because they work with Skype. The sound is on. I have checked in the audio mixer to make sure that the sound was turned up on the programs which are not playing audio. The settings appear correct.
