Hi, I just got a HP 23bw to replace an old Dell monitor which died after 8 years of service.
Whenever my computer tries to put the monitor to sleep, it continually flashes the "Monitor Going to Sleep" message instead of actually going to sleep. (Just to be clear, it will flash that message for hours instead of actually going to sleep.) Obviously this is very annoying. And not something my old Dell did, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the computers - I've tried it with two computers (MacBook Air and MacBook Pro), with the same effect.
I've tried fiddling with various settings on the OSD and tried the "factory reset", neither of which had an effect, but if there's any solution for this specific issue I'll be happy to try it out.
Is this a design flaw with this product? Or is it possible it's just something wrong with my specific copy?
Obviously I'm going to take it back to the retailer but I'd be willing to try another copy if it would be worth the effort, since the screen itself is quite nice.
