I have been using my Pavilion P7-1414 since November 2012 with no issues. Several months ago I completely restored the machine and upgraded to Windows 8.1 with no issues. This morning I downloaded a Sony game, played for approximatly 5 minutes before the computer crashed. Upon restarting the computer, my audio would not work, and my IDT High Definition Audio CODEC driver showed a Code 52, unsigned driver. I tried several things, and at this point I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times, I uninstalled the game that started this mess, I tried restoring the PC to yesterday (which failed), and restarted the computer numerous times in the process. I also disabled signature enforcement and restarted, and when I do that, the audio still doesn't work, but the error code changes to code 1, device not configured properly.
I am also not sure if I am installing the proper driver. I found a few desktop drivers, but when I try to install those they say my PC doesn't meet their minimum requirements. Some laptop drivers appear to install, but they give me the error codes. Can anyone help?
