My HP Pavilion computer is Model P6-2103w with Windows 7. My new Monitor is an Asus 27in. VK278. I changed to a larger Monitor because of my eyes. My old HP 19in. Monitor played videos perfectly but the new one playes them like standard defination. Poor Picture quality on HBO GO or DVDs. I downloaded another driver but have no idea if it was the correct one or needed. My computer knowledge is extremely limited. I'm not even sure what a driver is and if there is one for the Monitor and one for the computer. Ignorance is not bliss.
The screen resolution for the new Monitor is 1920x1080, which is recomended. A Tech thought the problem was I needed a stronger graphics card to run the larger Monitor.
How do I figure out if I just need a new driver and which to get?
If I do need a new graphics card how do I figure out which one? I'm not a big gamer and really only want to improve the quality of videos. How do I know which one will fit into this computer? And what about the intergrated card that came with the computer? Would I have to uninstall it or just plug the new one into the computer and play both?
What kind of price are we talking about for a new graphics card?
