HP A6250z Headphone jack for Front Productivity Ports

I have Windows 7 32 bit.  I am trying to use the headphone jack on the Front Productivity Port. This is the port that has a jack for microphone, headphone, 3 USB and Firewire. I cannot figure out how to make the sound go through this port. I did check to make sure this device worked by plugging in a USB. The sound normally will go through the back with a PCI Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi. I unplugged this one to make sure there was no conflict.

Do I need to install a device driver?

I'm looking at the device manager and I don't see anything helpful.

What specificlly can I look for in device manger etc.?

I'm frustrated because I seem to going in circles trying to get help from HP and google searches.
