I currently own a HP p6516f-b and love it. When I first purchased it I changed the power supply to 400w and the graphics card to a GeForce 9800GT. Everything was fine with my system until I started playing a new version of a game and now I get the BSOD frequently and also I have a GPU monitor for the temperature on my graphics card. The alarm goes off around 179 degrees and gets over 200 before I decide to turn off the system completely.
I would like to update my graphics card so I can play my games again. I am looking at the GeForce 750-TI but I don't know if it will work in my system. The motherboard is a Foxconn 2a92 (says Soluto) but when I search the HP website, it says I have the H-RS880-uATX but the picture doesn't look like the motherboard in my system. The current card is about 4 1/2" wide and 8" long and that's the longest that can fit in this case with all the cables. Can I upgrade this computers graphic card to the GeForce 750-TI and if so, is there a certain one I should chose? I see there's several versions of this card. I'm not sure what to look for when it comes to specifications like the PCI Express.
I know there's a gaming version of the card as well. Can somebody let me know which one I should be using in my system? I'm interested in seeing which versions of the 750-TI is compatible, if it is. Will it work? I can't seem to find anything about my specific computer model when it comes to this card, so I don't know what I should do.
