I have an all-in-one desktop PC, and I know that there's only one 3.5 mm jack port to connect a headset w/ microphone, which is typically used for gamers to chat with other team members in some online games.
So we have this 32-channel sound system mixer, with separate input and output ports. I successfully rigged a cable to connect output port of the mixer to the 3.5 mm jack port of the desktop unit, so I can play music on a media player and the mixer distribute it to some speakers connected to it.
But I still can't figure out how I can record sound output from the mixer on the desktop PC. I mean, when there's someone doing speech with a wireless mic that's connected to the mixer, I don't know how to record it. I tried to connect the mixer's output to the desktop's 3.5 mm jack, but it only records static; sometimes just silence.
1. Is there a way that I can connect BOTH mixer's input and output to the 3.5 mm jack?
2. If can't, what cable / jack is required to do recordings (connecting the mixer's output with the 3.5 mm jack)?
Please help.
