I've got an HP Pavilion HP 500-054 . If I plug headphones in the front jack, they are detected and sound is heard. I have a 5.1 surround speaker system plugged into the proper back jacks. When I remove the headphones, the speaker/headphone icon dims and a red arrow with the words not plugged in appears. Could there be a probem with the front jack not switching back the signal to the rear speaker jacks.
