I bought a new computer in April 2014, an HP Envy 700-230 with Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system. I used my older monitor Hp f1905 , because HP said it would be compatible. It woke up fine for the first 3 months after using it with the new computer, then all of sudden, it quit waking up out of sleep mode. I have to use a screen saver, and it starts up fine, after moving the mouse. I was on HP tech support, and they ran a scan and said I had a system crash the end of July. Sent the computer to HP, and they reinstalled the operating system. Got it hooked up last night. Sleep was set to come on after 10 minutes of inactivity. It seemed to wake up fine, but I left the computer on all night, when I went to wake it up this morning, the monitor wouldn't wake up. I had to turn the monitor on and off a couple of times with the monitor on and off button on the side, then it came on. Any suggestions? Do I need to buy a new monitor?
