I have a desktop HP Computer (HP slimline s5503w) and my monitor is an HP S1931A. Every single time I have a power outage my monitor loses signal. I cannot change the input on the monitor nor the auto select. It says the default selection is DVI but I have no DVI input on my computer. It will sometimes allow me to change the input to VGA put it still cannot find a signal. I have tried plugging the computer into different monitors but still get no signal and the screen does not stay on long enough for me to do anything about looking at the BIOS or anything else. I am sure there is a simple solution to this but I have not found it. Once I took out the CMOS battery after tearing my hair out for two days and that fixed it. This time I am having no success. So if anyone wishes to take pity on me and give me a way to fix this I would appreciate it. It is either fix it or have a really nice paperweight with lights and buttons that makes a whirling noise.
