audiodg.exe memory leaks

The last few days I've noticed my system getting sluggish.  Today it got to the point of crashing.  Leaving the task manager window up, with the high usage sorted to the top I've discovered that audiodg.exe has a memory leak.  As soon as the desktop is booted it starts gathering memory and not releasing it.  As mentioned above it will crash the destop if left unattended.

Since I see this has been an issue since Vista back in 2009, is my only option to uninstall DTS Audio Control Panel and let windows use whatever default system sound is left?
