Hello,
I apologize in advance if this issue has already been resolved in an old post and I just didn't see it.
I know this is an older system, but I recently was looking to connect multiple computers to the same monitor (HP 2159m monitor that came stock with the tower).
I connected a laptop to the VGA input on the monitor and ran a separate 3.5 mm audio jack into the monitor to use the built in speakers. I then assumed that since the tower had HDMI output it would do both audio and sound to the monitor through the single connection.
However, when I connect the PC to the monitor using an HDMI cable I get picture and some intermittent white noise. I tried re-installing the audio driver, installing the BIOS update from HP, changing the default audio output in sound options, and looking in the settings for the graphics card to no avail. I know from doing some searching through google that the monitor supports audio and video through HDMI but I am wondering how to configure the PC to output both the audio and video through the HDMI output. The video card is a Nvidia GEforce 9500 GS.
Thank you in advance for the help.
