Envy 700-60ea Beats Audio cannot find startup file

Hi

I was having a bit of trouble with Beats Audio a couple of days ago, the program would run but changing settings would not affect the audio coming from my speakers.

I googled my problem and it led me here where I saw a solution was to update the driver, I downloaded the driver and during installation it said my hardware was not compatible, it stopped the installation and when I went to open the beats control panel I got the message "startup file cannot be found". I tried clicking the desktop shortcut for it and it told me something along the lines of the shortcut was old or no longer working. So I decided to go looking for the Beats Audio control panel in another part of the computer but it had completely disappeared.

I was hoping returning my system to a restore point would solve the problem, but having just returned it to the state it was in on Christmas day, the good news is Beats Audio has returned but I'm still getting the startup file cannot be found message.

Any help? Envy 700-60ea running on windows 8.1
