I bought AIO Pavilion 23-g135x couple weeks ago. I replaced the OEM Ubuntu with Windows 8.1 SLT 64Bit. My AIO is 23-g135x or Product Number F7H83AA.
I was informed that my AIO were equipped with Nvidia GeForce 810A 2Gb. I'm confused because on hp.com it says:
- Integrated Intel HD Graphics
- Discrete Nvidia GeForce 810A Graphic Chip
- 2 GB DDR3 dedicated memory
- Permanently Soldered to the motherboard etc etc
Chronological:
When 1st bought the AIO its bootup Ubuntu. I bought and asked the seller to install Win 8.1 SLT 64bit. They told me that they need to wipe the partition clean. I agreed. They installed the windows, they said they installed the driver. When i got home, i installed HP Assistant and checked through the missing driver. When it came to Graphic Adapter Driver, it only installed Intel HD 4600 drivers and "x-marked" the Nvidia GeForce. I went to HP.com and manually downloaded and installed SP68299.
Then i right-click on desktop>Screen Resolution>Advanced Setting. It says Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600. I thought, this is wrong, it supposed to say Nvidia GeForce 810A. Then i went to device manager. Under Display Adapters it shows 2 items, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce 810A. Although there's no yellow exclamation mark. But, my thinking is," How a device runs on 2 drivers". I uninstalled the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600. It got replaced by Microsoft-generic-display-something. I Uninstalled the Microsoft-Something. But when i refreshed hardware it automatically install the Intel (R) HR Graphics 4600 once again.
I went to the internet. I found and downloaded 344.11-64bit-whql for win8.1 from NVIDIA (found it over some driver finder site). I manually update the driver (browse and find the driver). I checked all .inf available but it said i need to find a 64bit version. So, i stuck.
Summary:
Problem started when installing windows 8.1 SLT 64Bit. Apparently some drivers went missing. My Graphic Adapter says it runs on Intel HD 4600 where it supposed to be GeForce 810A. As well, my Monitory Type is: Generic PnP Monitor. I don't know if it's related to the problem i'm facing right now. I went to the HP.COM, downloaded the driver in question, installed, but didnt give any result.
