Pc will not recognize video card

I had purchased an EVGA Geforce GT610 video card and installed it into my HP Pavilion 500-54(Windows 8.1 OS). When I tried to install the video drivers(latest drivers from EVGA) for the new video card I recieved a message that the "Graphics driver could not find compatible hardware". Also the new card was not listed anywhere in the display adapter or anywhere in device manager. I have disabled Boot security enabled legacy mode and diabled slot security for the pci slot where the video card is located. Yet I still cant get the PC to recognize the video card (which is compatible with this system). I have tried uninstalling the onboard drivers but that didnt help. The PC should recognize the video card when it was put in the pci 16x slot. Does anyone have or had this issue and did you find a solution to the problem. And yes I have tried the card in a different PC and it works fine. I have exhausted all avenues for a fix so far and still can't resolve this issue. Any tips or fixes will greatly be appreciated.
