My desktop is an HP ENVY h8-1534.
I recently purchased an AMD Radeon HD 7770 and a new PSU (725 Watt) to install into my desktop. I installed both, with no power or shorting issues, and installed the drivers that came with the Video Card. My desktop does not seem to want to recognize the video card, and when i go into Hardware settings to see if the desktop even sees the new card, it sees it but does not recognize it and encounters an error when trying to install the drivers directly from AMD.com
Any and all adivce on this issue would be very welcome. I would like to find out why this is happening and why my computer doesnt want to recognize this video card. I also think there are onboard graphics, but I have been into BIOS settings to see if I could disable those. I am unfortunately having issues finding even that, and I doubt that this Desktop has that kind of option. There was another card in the exact same slot, an AMD Radeon HD 7570, and any attempts to upgrade the drivers on that card have failed as well. I tried the auto-detect tool on AMD's website, but it doesnt recognize what I have, even though this is clearly an AMD product.
