I just purchased an Envy23 w/beatsaudio monitor and an HP Evny 810 series tower computer. I am extremely disappointed with HP's hardware documentation! Connecting and setting up the system is a 'by guess and by golly' process. The tower has a VGA and HDMI output for the monitor. The monitor has a VGA and (2) HDMI inputs. Regardless of the cabling setup I attempt I cannot get any sound through the monitor when connecting to the rear speaker port (item 4 on page 4 of the sparse documentation provided). The documentation I received does not suggest how to properly configure the system. In "the good old days" manufacturers provided enough specific documentation document for such endeavors, plus the diagrams for potential upgrades (different hard drives, CD & DVD drives, memory expansion, and general I/O modifications).
