I have a HP P7 1228 desktop with the onboard video upgraded with a Geforce GT 240 video card. I am trying to replace the GT 240 with a Geforce GT 610 Card. the pc is a I3-2100 CPU, 8 GB memory, Windows 7 64bit, and an Antec 450 watt power supply. I am using the PCI Express x 16 slot and the motherboard is a PEGATRON Carmel IPISB-cu. When the new card is installed and the pc turned on, it willboot up to the beginning HP logo screen and stop. There aren't any audible beeps heard. I have spent several days online with Geforce support personnel and other support people. I have reseated the card, made sure all connections were seated and correct. I have updated the BIOS and reset the CMOS. I tried the card in another pc and it worked fine. The best guess I got from Geforce is that the card and pc are not capable. The pc meets all the requirements for the card. I forgot to mention that this is the second card I have tried. The first one was returned as Geforce support initially told me the card was defective. If the card and pc won't work together, could someone please tell me what cards have been successfully used in this model pc. Any help would be greatly appreciately.
