Hello,
I currently have an HP Pavilion Desktop Computer. The product is H8-1120, with the Model#QP771AA
My Motherboard is the Carmel2 (IPISB-CU), with an i7-2600 chip, 350W supply, and Radeon HD 7570 video card.
I wanted to play some of the newer games on decent quality (usually I would need to run on lowest settings, and even reduce the resolution, just to get 20+ FPS), and so I recently bought a new GTX 750TI graphics card to improve my computer with. But I had the same problem everyone else did, where their HP board wouldn't accept the new card, and nothing helped my problem.
Right now I'm returning the GTX750 TI and I'm looking for a good upgrade to my current GPU, at a reasonable cost, and I would like to absolutely know, 100% that I won't have Motherboard compatibility issues with the new gpu.
I've been looking at the Radeon HD 6970 graphics card, and the Radeon HD 6850 cards. Both are qutie a bit better than my current graphics card, and I will also be updating the Power Supply too 550-600W.
Does anyone know for sure if I'll be able to run the HD 6970 graphics card on my motherboard, with a PSU upgrade to 600W? I checked online and the Radeon 6000 series were released around the year 2010, a year before my current BIOS (AMI 7.16 / 05/10/2011) was released. Will my BIOS be able to work with this graphics card?
