I've had my Pavilion 22bw monitor for well over a year and a half now, with absolutely no issues. Just recently (probably two-three days ago) it has started to go to a completely black screen every few minutes. The power button stays on with the same colour, yet pressing the power button on the monitor doesn't achieve anything - the only way I've found to remedy this problem is to unplug the monitor power supply and plug it back in. The black screen returns after a few minutes, however.
I'm running an older HP Pavilion DV7 laptop, and it's attached screen has absolutely no problems with it, so I don't feel as if it is a graphics card problem. Sometimes, before the secondary monitor (pavilion 22bw) goes black, it changes colour just a touch, going ever so slightly lighter with an off-green tinge being applied to a small portion of the monitor, also in the same place each time.
I have read through a few similar posts on the forums, and tried the drain-charge method (unplug, hold power button for one minute, reset to factory default, etc.) and it seems to have done nothing beneficial - if anything, it almost appears as though it's happening more often. Would like to get this fixed asap.
