I purchased an HP Pavilion model d4790y in 2007. I was running Windows Vista (32 bit) and I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 (64 bit). Everything works fine except the audio. The original audio was a multimedia board from Sound Blaster.
The Sound Blaster was installed as part of the original purchase and has the HP model RX852AV. The original description says it is a Sound Blaster Audigy X-FI 24 bit XTREMEFID.
The multimedia control properties is listed in the device manager as; Device PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_00331102&REV_00\4&153 5f642&0&20F0.
The driver was not installed as part of the Win 8.1 upgrade. Can you tell me if HP or Creative has a driver that supports this model SB?
