IDT Driver...

I got a new headset and it's been working well.

However, in windows movie maker, whenever I'd try to listen to something, the sound would cut out. Of everything. Unplugging and replugging would work and I'd just have to mute the video. Well, the last time it happened, unplugging didn't work. I looked under "playback devices" and found that it apparently wasn't plugged in, despite that it was. I found that I should uninstall my idt sound driver and restart my computer to see if it worked. Well, it didn't. there's no sound at all AND the driver isn't there AND i can't find the right one. i've downloaded a few and restarted my computer. it's actually there now, listed as idt high definition audio CODEC but it has an error sign next to it. it says:

"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

A device attached to the system is not functioning.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

but when i do, i get this error:

a device attached to this system is not working."

Not sure what to do? I have an 8.1 envy desktop...
