Input signal out of range - Mid-game

Hey guys,

I recently got assassins creed black flag and metal gear solid ground zeroes for my computer. When I started to play it on my standard video card, the game was heavily pixelated but still worked and I could play it normally, however, because the graphics were bad I bought a new video card which is the Nvidia Geforce GTX 960.

When I got through installing the drivers etc. I was able to use my computer normally for normal activites and set the resolution to 1680x1050 at 60hz (my monitor's native resolution).

The problem is that when I start playing a game, the graphics are perfect, however, one-two minutes in to playing either game, my monitor (HP w2207h) blacks out and gives the message 'input sigal out of range - change to 1680x1050 60hz'. My resolution for assassins creed has already been set specifically at the required normal resolution and I have set my nvidia control panel at the required resolution also with there being an over-ride to stop games from scaling it otherwise. I have already gone on multiple forums and done the changes they ask like reinstalling the drivers for both the video card and the monitor and I have fiddled around with the resoluton part of my nvidia control panel having every combination of all of the options of scaling etc.

The difference between my case and the cases I have read on forums is the fact that the monitor goes black as soon as the game is turned on and it resolves when people change the resolution but my games are all on the correct resolution anyway and I can run the game for a minute or two before the screen goes black.

Any ideas/help/solutions would be much appreciated
