I would like to upgrade my EVGA GEForce 570 to a GeForce 970 card.  The 570 has worked fine since I replaced the original 550ti with it.  I know the power supply is adequate for the 970, but realize that it has PCI-express 3. 0 architecture (which is which is in general backwards compatible with PCI-express 2.0 slots like in this motherboard).  My questions are: a) will the card work in the computer?  b) will I potentially be able to unlock utilize its full PCI-express 3.0 potential by using a "force enable gen 3" command (or could that even make it unbootable)?  The first question is the most important.  I have a X79 chipset and I-7 3930 processor, plus 32 GB of RAM.  Thanks for any advice!
