hey guys, I have an i3 4130 with 8 gb of ram,

Obviously this processor and ram are good for gaming, as ive seen videos online of people playing bf4 and crysis 3. I also want to play those games, and cs:go and dirty bomb, and dragon age.  I don't really care about playing at high settings, just medium is fine to me.  I really want to get an r9 270x bc they are on a great deal at best buy right now.  I will also buy a 650W power supply to go along with it. My buddy is a computer geek and can install all this for me. I have taken measurements and I can fit such a graphics card, or the gtx 660, into my case. [cards that are 10x4 in]

However, I saw in another post that my motherboard has a 4-pin connector. Is this bad? The website says my motherboard can support up to an i7 uprade!... So why not other new powerful parts such as a GPU or PSU.  I get that HP doesn't make gaming computers. Why would they make a motherboard that can run an i7 but not an equally powerful GPU. I get that HP doesn't make gaming computers, but office ones. However, this is the PC in my family study so I'm trying to make it work.

Another route is for my to get the GTX 750, because this card has a minimum power supply of 300w needed.

However, someone in another forum said that HP uses crummy power supplies and won't have enough voltage on the 12v rail. is this true?  if this route works, then I'll definatly go this way as its easy... also no external power cord needed with this card. However, if my power supply doesn't have enough Volts on the 12v rail, then I'll just get the graphics card I want and the necessary power supply.

This is really frustrating me, because I was playing some really old games [rtcw , et] with  friends on teamspeak  at night, and my integrated graphics could handle it but now they are switching over to modern games that I can't play and I reallly want to figure this out before I go spend alot of money. Thanks for any replies.
