We are having an issue with HP L2206tm monitors that we have set up in our office. Randomly but quite frequently the cursor will jump to the top right corner of the screen as if someone is touching that spot on the monitor. You cannot use the mouse or touch the screen to move it as it just jumps right back to that spot. This has also happened randomly in the OS and being that the X icon is in that area, has caused programs like outlook and internet explorer to just close by themselves when in full screen mode.
The only fix we have come across is to power cycle the monitor which sometimes does not work either; at that point a factory reset on the monitor usually fixes it. Sometimes numerous restarts are required to get the screen temporarily working again.
We also notice that when systems come out of sleep or hibernation mode that the screen will constantly flicker or power off until the display cable is reseated and monitor power cycled.
The issues have obviously caused frustration with users. The monitors are being used in combination will HP ZR2240 and HP Z22i, but we have the same issues on 1 2206tm and a dell monitor as well.
A final request by a few users was if they could make the HP 2206tm their secondary monitor. It seems that this monitor will only function correctly when it is set as the primary; otherwise when you touch the screen it will highlight/touch the same spot on the primary screen. Any one have any work around for this?
The systems that we use are HP 2560/2570; HP 8560/8570; HP Z210/220/230 and HP Elitebook 820. We have tried using the updated driver on HP's website for the touch monitor but in the readme it states it is not a driver and that Windows 7/8 will auto detect a touch monitor. Our operating systems are Windows 7 SP1 x64 and Windows 8.1 x64; both Enterprise Editions. All laptops are using official HP docks and power cords and all drivers are direct from HP.
Thank you for any guidance.
