For a couple of years I had my Slimline HP 5611 PC (with Windows 7 Home Premium) hooked to a Samsung widescreen monitor (BX2331). I recently hooked it up to an older 4 by 3 LCD monitor. What I see now on the display looks like the PC still thinks it is still connected to the widescreen monitor, and hence is very difficult to read. Hard to describe, but basically the right 1/3 of what I see on the screen actually belongs on the left side of the monitor, and the left 2/3 belongs to the center and right side. Needless to say, this is very hard to work with. The mouse pointer is also off track, so pointing to an item on the screen is not what is actually "active".
Is there a way to fix this? Probably a driver issue, but how do I reset the driver? Especially with everything out of "whack"? When I bought the Samsung monitor it came with a driver CD, but I cannot recall if I actually installed it or not. When I hook it back up to the Samsung, all is OK. I have not tried another older monitor. The one I tried to use is working just fine, since I had it hooked up to another Windows 7 PC and it worked OK
Thanks in advance for any advice.
