Using windows 7 and dual monitors, my HP Pavillion 23bw has worked well for some time. Now intermittently, I will see a message "power button lockout" and soon the monitor will turn off. If I leave it alone, it will come back on after a time, but the power button does nothing. Unplugging the power and then replugging sometimes works. I have replaced the power module. I have tried the hold the power button for 30 sec to 2 min, but no effect. It seems as though it gets too hot and shuts down, then restarts after a cool off period. Why does the power switch (and other switches on the monitor) not work? Do I need to replace it? Any help would be most appreciated.
