I have a HP 500B with windows 8.1 and a Nvidia Geforce 9800GT. Windows won't recognize the Nvidia Drivers, but with the Realtec Drivers the HDMI device shows up and looks like it is working (you can see the meters move on the mixer) but no sound comes from my speakers.
Nvidia support told me there is something that I need to change in my BIOS but they say only HP can tell me what that is, if it even exists. .
The device is connected to the motherboard via the spdif cable but no spdif options show up in the BIOS settings.
I have tried turning off the onboard sound device but that just makes all the audio devices disapear.
Please don't respond by telling me to reinstall the drivers or enable HDMI audio in the Nvidia control panel, or check the settings in your TV. I've been fighting this for over a week and I assure you I have checked and double checked all of those.
Like I said Nvidia tells me it is in the BIOS so if any one can tell me what to do or at least knows that the stupid thing will never work i'd appreciate the help
