I have a p6520f. Last year i purchased a dvi-hdmi switcher that had a power supply in it. I was able to watch video either from my monitor or on the LED TV. I had an input coming fom the TV into this switcher-an output going back to my DVI monitor, and another output going to the 3rd dvi port that had a hdmi adapter on it. It worked perfectly.
For some reason, either my video card, or the switcher stopped working. So I bought a dvi-hdmi switcher from Startech but it would not work. Neither monitor or TV would come on when this switcher was in place. Startech said that it was not working because the refresh rate was not the same on the tv and monitor.
I would like to upgrade this computer with a different display card/video card to accomodate two dvi ports, so I can run the dvi/hdmi adapter to one port for the TV and another dvi port back to monitor.
Is this possible? If so, what model of card could fit in this computer. Thank you
