I've had a Pavilion 23bw since Christmas, and in the last couple of weeks, it's started to flicker. Not all the time, but a good deal of the time, especially early in a user session & late in the session. I can't see any connection between user tasks and problems starting or stopping. The flickering does occur sometimes in the Windows bootup pages (the ones with the Windows logos)
I've tried all the troubleshooting on this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph05236&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5304220#N427
I've tried connecting with a serial cable as well as an HDMI, I've tried downloading new drivers, I've tried making screen resolution changes, and changes to the monitor settings. No luck.
Yesterday, I bought a new HDMI cable, thinking perhaps that was the problem, but it's still flickering.
This morning, I realized that it still flickers even when there is no input from the PC-- the little setup square or going to sleep notice flickers.
Today, I installed the HP My Display app, thinking that might help me access some additional settings. On the "My System" page of the app, it shows the "Timing Recommendation" as 1920x1080 @60hz. Just below this, the "Current Timing" shows as 0x0 @0hz. Is that the problem? How do I reset the current timing?
Also, when I try to change the screen resolution via Windows, the highest resolution I can choose is 1366x768. Is that part of the problem?
