Please help me, no audio device drivers for my HP PC.

My audio was recently taken away from my PC after getting the Windows 10 Creators Update and I have no "working" solutions ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET! Especially from the HP site as my operating system is not listed to search for drivers. Please help me and I'll gladly thank you! Tried all solutions of audio problems from the Internet, especially with the HP Support assistant and nothing solved it. Questions and answers below for more information.

Q: What was the sound driver named and when was it removed?

A: It was named SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio and removed by the OS itself ater installing the Windows 10 Creators Update in June 29, 2017.

Q: Was your PC upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

A: Absolutely. Another owner bought it and upgraded it to Windows 10 Pro Activated via KMSpico activator(A VIRUS). It was on sale by the owner to Kijiji Buy And Sell and we had enough to afford it.

Q: What are your PC Specs?

A: PC MODEL: HP compaq dc7900 Convertible Minitower PC. Intel Core 2 Quad CPU - 8GB RAM(7.81 GB usable). OS: Windows 10.

Oh, and almost forgot. There is not an audio driver available for my OS from HP.

Find me the right driver, and I'll gladly thank you because I am steaming mad of this problem and there is no solution to fit me.

Sound still comes from speakers when headphones are plugged in.

Sound still comes from speakers when headphones are plugged in. I have tried uninstal, then re install of the drivers followed by a reboot  with no success. This problem has arisen  after an update for windows 10 and reboot of the computer. Prior to that all was working fine.

Re: HP EliteDesk 800 G3: Poor Audio Quality

I am also having the same issue described with my new HP EliteDesk 800 G3 Tower PC.  I went the route of using an external audio card to fix the issue until I could find a resolution.  Not at all what I like to do, but it sounded that bad.  The built in sound card has a very tinny sound, no bass. Sounded just like it was coming out of a tin can.

Powered PC speakers connect to Headphone/Microphone combo port?

Hi, I have recently set up a Pavilion 27-n101a. On the bottom I/O ports there is a Headphone/Microphone combo port.

My question is: I also have a set of nice-sounding Altec Lansing powered speakers with a subwoofer which I've had for many years, and can I connect them to this Headphone/Microphone combo port on the Pavilion, or will they damage the system?

Thanks!

Z800 Workstation How do I disable internal sound when I don't see it in BIOS

How in the heck do I disable internal audio so I can use my Creative Labs X-FI Elite Pro sound card.

I don't see any options in the BIOS to disable the internal sound card like every computer I've owned or put together myself.

I much rather use my killer SB0550 than the internal stereo sound since 7.1 audio is much better

poor (tinny and thin) sound quality from external speakers

I have tried two different sets of external speakers (one a Boston with subwoofer) and the sound is very thin and tinny. Sounds basically like the desktop's speaker simply amplified. I have used the boston speakers with multiple desktops over the last 15 years and the sound has always been very good and consistent. I can't figure out what the problem is or if there is a setting that needs adjusting. Plugged in via the headphone jack. The newer set is a usb set, but same issue. When I click on the speaker icon it is Conexant HD audio, so I would think the sound would be decent.

HDMI input isn't projecting any sound when its hooked up to my PS4, help?

I've checked my sound devices and the HDMI input wouldn't show up. Some sources have said it's the Playstation trying to project the sound somewhere else, but didn't give any details as to how one would find it. Another source has said that you have to tell Windows where to project the sound by making the HDMI the default, but this is obviously a problem when the option doesn't even show up. I've tried updating my sound devices, they were all up to date. I've tried updating the graphics card even though this is not an Intel computer, nothing happened. I've tried putting the computer in sleep mode  with the HDMI cord in and turning it back on, nothing happened. I've tried shutting down the compiter with the HDMI cord in and turning it back on, and nothing happened.

Is it the cord? No, the cord has worked before. I'm experiencing this after the most recent Window's 10 update to be honest.

Is it the PS4? Can't be, it works fine and there's nothing wong with it.

To further prove my point, I switched the HDMI cord from the input on the desktop to the one on my TV, and the audio is working just as it should. Also, this HAS worked before. I've been able to play my PS4 using my desktop with no problems whatsoever, so I've come to the conclusion that it's either the desktop or Windows 10. Of course I'll be messaging Windows about this, but I don't plan on going back to previous versions unless absolutely necessary.

Anyways, is there anything I can do to fix this probelm? I've been poking around on the internet for hours now an it's really starting to wear on me. Keep in mind, I'm not a computer wiz and my desktop doesn't have a tower since it's an all-in-one computer. To be specific, it's an HP ENVY 24-n100 All-in-One Desktop PC series (Touch).

Sincerely, a frustrated person Smiley Happy

USB Microphone not working

I am trying to add a microphone to my laptop (the model is a Trust Mico USB for PC and Laptop) but I just cannot get it to work properly. There seem to be two problems with it.

1) when it is plugged in my speakers don't work;

2) the quality of sound is very poor, despite the fact that when I used it on a machine with Windows Vista it was fine. In fact, I think I may be only recording from the built in microphone and not the new one!

When I first plugged the microphone in to the laptop I went through the stages covered in the product's Quick Installation Guide and the laptop recognised the device. But, after it did not work, I follwed advice and  used Control Panel to set up the microphone by other means: but, the message that has appeared says "Your microphone might need to be set up. Problem Not fixed".

Is anyone able to offer advice?

I have tried getting information elsewhere on the internet but the comments I have found are full of references to technical details which I do not understand, some of which involve identifying software and/or drivers to download, others involve adding soundcards or doing things with soundcards. I have no idea what this means, how to do it or what it involves. in terms of affecting my computer.

Thank you.

Realtek Audio Driver Not working in Windows 10 64bit

HP Pavilion p7-1054 desktop with the motherboard N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix).
According to the spec, Integrated ALC888S-VD audio is installed.
Recently, I installed Windows 10 64bit but I have a problem as follows:

1. When Widnows 10 installed, audio icon was with red X meaning no speaker plugged in.
Even though I tried to connect a speaker physically, red X still on the audio/speaker icon.

2. I downloaded and installed the latest audio driver from realtek from
http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High Definition Audio Codecs

The audio icon with red X went away but realtek audio manager keeps showing toggling messages like speaker is not plugged in and attached.
The speaker connected was never working.

3. I downloaded the latest driver from Windows catalog and installed it manually.
But the speaker still doesn't work.

How to solve this issue?

Audio Problem Following Windows 10 Update

Immediately after the latest Windows 10 update the speakers in my Z34c TV/Monitor no longer worked. When I access Playback Devices I see the green bar volume level fluctuating, but there is no sound from the speakers (level set at 100%).

Response from Microsoft Forum was to contact HP for latest drivers. I already went through the update driver process and the fact that I see the volume level fluctuating leaves me to believe it's not the driver.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm tired of using bluetooth headphones all the time.

Computer doesn't detect earphones being plugged into jack

Hi everyone,

I have a HP Pavilion HPE h8-1234 Desktop. Recently, the hard drive broke ( and I did not back it up ) so I had to replace it. My new hard drive was completely empty so I  purchased a Windows 10 OS with it and successfully installed it into my hard drive, but now my computer can't detect my earphones or speakers being plugged into the audio jack.

My computer can detect a video recorder ( Zoom Q2HD Handy Video Recorder ) that connects using USB and use that to playback audio, but anything that plugs into an audio jack doesn't work.

http://imgur.com/sB4F562 ( Image of problem )

I believe the Speakers / Headphone or the Communication Headphones are supposed to be the audio jack, but it says nothing is plugged in. The digital output says it works, but I don't hear anything from anywhere so I'm not sure what that is and the very bottom one is my video recorder that plays audio in a very low quality.

When I tried troubleshooting sound problems this came up, but I am positive that the earphones are connected into the correct audio jack because they are plugged into where they have always been plugged into before this issue arised.

http://imgur.com/iIba2QE

I also tried messing with the audio drivers.

http://imgur.com/ExsfB4E

I tried uninstalling the drivers and updating the drivers but nothing has worked for me so far. Although I'm not 100% sure if I uninstalled or updated the drivers correctly.

Other information:

I don't know how relevant this information would be but over the years, I have made a few upgrades to this computer. I initially purchased it as a  HP Pavilion HPE h8-1234 Desktop but the power supply, graphics card, hard drive, and Operating System are now different. It's only when I replaced the hard drive and switched Operating Systems from Windows 7 to Windows 10 that this issue arised.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

HP Pavilion 27a-241nd very disorted and crackling sound

Since the day we unpacked the computer, a week ago, the sound is not alright. Initially, we played sound through the built-in B&O loudspeakers. When we play music of any sound it gives a enourmous crackling sound. Very disorted. It's like listening to an old gramophone record.

Also via the audio output the same problem. The computer is connected to a mixer that is reconnected to an Onkyo amplifier. This does not make the problem anymore or less audible.

What's the matter with the computer? For such an expensive computer with B&O sound you would expect it to have exuberant sound. My wife bought the same computer a week later and that does not have this problem.

Re: Pavilion Wave - sound and front USP port - problems

Hello,  I have a HP Pavillion Wave Desktop -600-a159na   and my front usb has stopped working for some reason, all the other ports work perfectly, I have tried re-installing the chipset drivers, but no joy in getting the front usb to work, not sure if like the other posts that its a cable that's come adrift as I haven't moved the computer about at all, I am willing to open it up and check the connections though, but just thought if there is anything else I can try before that.

Hope I can get help from here.

Thanks in advance
