My sound is not coming from speakers. I have checked the wire hook up and it works fine on other systems. I have downloaded realtek audio hd several times. When I open the manager in control panel it shows the jacks on back of computer where my speakers are connected (lime green) as grayed out and the only option is the digital jack which is at the bottom of the case. My HP vs17e is not set up for digital sound. I am growing frustrated the further I do not have success. When I play a disk or something from internet and click on the speaker at bottom right the green goes up and down indicating that sounds is doing something. What am I missing. It seems via other forums this is a common problem so I thought I would go to the source. My model number of HP is a pavilion p7-1074. Thanks for your help and would appreciate staying with me unto the end and success is reached.
