I have a newly purchased Z220 which is replacing an older machine. One criterium for selecting this machine was the backward compatability of the PCI buss.
We use a Srat Tech PEXHDCAP video capture card. This because it is just about the only PCI card on the market that is actually reliable. However, this is not the current issue....
The video capture card uses PCI e1x interface (As labeled on the mother board), the PCI Buss on the Z220 mother board is labeled, "PCIe2", and is advertised as "backward compatible". The PCI Buss does not see the video capture card.
Yes, we have replaced the video card in the machine being replaced and it stil functions in that machine. Yes, we have uninstalled and reinstalled PCI Buss.
We've updated the Z220 BIOS to the most current available from the HP website.
I'm hoping HP will step up and provide a solution. However, I welcome input from all.
