Twice recently I have noticed that on my wife's Envy 700-210 Win 8.1 desktop PC that audio stops working after "updates". I'm not sure (as she does these) whether it was a Windows update or an HP update.
First occurrence
I nosed around her PC and didn't see anything obvious. I ended up just rebooting her PC and the sound started working again.
Second occurrence
I nosed around again and didn't see anything obvious. Rebooting made no difference. So, I started nosing around the "Beats" control panel. Her PC is the first PC I have seen using Beats (although my new HP laptop also has it). Eventually, I went into the Beats control panel and clicked the "reset to default" button. That worked.
Has anyone else seen this on Envy desktops? So far, I have not seen this on the new HP laptop.
