I recently bought this desktop primarily for good net surfing and the occasional game.
I did do some research prior to buying, but now I'm having problems with games I purchased.
Seems the IGPU is not very desired and some popular games, such as Fallout 4 will not play without major screen tears or closing all together.
So, did some more research and decided to upgrade to an actual GPU and bought a PSU to support it.
Now there are two major problems.
Seems that the CORSAIRCX750M does not come with the appropriate cables to connect the DVD Burner, and now, apparently the PSU is not compatible with the MOBO.
(Prior to installation I disabled the Intel HD Grahpics 530 as per what I've heard and as per the installation instructions with the GPU.)
I have tried several times connecting and powering up.
I have reseated the RAM.
Tried to power up one at a time, etc, etc, etc.
The new PSU does operate, fans and MOBO fans, unfortunately no MOBO led (really HP?) but that is it.
Now if I try to connect original PSU, I see a message on the home HP screen that says:
Connect all PCIe power connections and Restart or something very similar.
So, the question is, will my MOBO handle the 750Watts, second, if it cannot, how do I recover the desktop?
To continue, would it just be as easy to get a better MOBO that can handle higher power then take it back to pay someone to repair if needed?
Had the computer about a month, just got the GPU/PSU today.
Really frustrated with the whole ordeal because of an integrated graphics processing unit that seems to be its Achilles Heal.
Please, someone help.
I probably do have more than average knowledge about computers but I'm not a guru by any means, so be kind if you start talking software and device changes! Thanks
