I have two identical HP Envy h8-1534 desktop computers each with 5.1 surround sound speakers. After upgrading to Windows 10 there is no sound coming from the speakers on either computer.  When I configure the speakers to 5.1 and click the test button the test tones sound clearly from all five speakers. However when I test individual system sounds from the sounds tab no sound comes from the speakers.  Web based videos and iTunes also produce no sound.  If I plug headphones into the headphone jack on top of the computer I can clearly hear sound from the headphones. I have tried updating the driver, uninstalling/reinstalling it and used the troubleshooting tools.  Nothing is working.  On HP’s support website choosing Windows 10 as an operating system even isn’t an option for this product.  While I like some of the features on Windows 10 not having any sound from either of my computers is bothersome. Any help would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded to windows 10, but I have now got an xbox

 

I wanted to use the Omni's display for it, but video input is fine (from the HDMI port) but sound is not working

 

I have tried to download the drivers again, but there aren't any for windows 10. When I try using a windows 7/8 driver from  the HP website, i get the error message when installing: "(9998) Your operating system does not meet the minimum requirements"

 

I would be grateful if someone could help me out, or provide me with a driver

Just bought a B&O equiped desk top (23-q105na)

 

advertised as "

A truly powerful audio experience

HP with Audio by B&O PLAY delivers the rich, authentic audio experience that immerses you so deeply in your music"

 

But when i go to adjust this B&O set up i get a cheap realtek sound system with no base or treble adjust with realtek speakers etc.

 

How do i access the B&O audio ?

I just bought a new HP Envy Desktop 750-177c with Windows 10 and I don't have any sound and Cortana can't hear me. Do I need to buy speakers and a microphone?

New computer only set up today, sound only plays through headphones. Does this model require additional speakers? I've updated the RealTek driver but still show a red X over the sound icon in system tray that says "no speakers or headphones are plugged in". Thanks in advance for any help!

I have no sound on my HP Pavilion 23. I have tried to

 

Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.  Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall- however there was no update located.

 

In Control Panel- I uninstalled Relatek HD Audio and re-booted however, no success.

 

Any help would be appreciated

I updated my Window 7 based desktop to Windows 10 and everything seems to work with the except of the Beats Audio panel.   I cannot select any buttons, adjust the volume or change the equalizer settings.    

 

I updated the IDT High Definition Audio Driver to the latest  version  (from 2012 to the 2013 version).    There doesn't seem to be an update for the Beats end of things.

 

I don't particularly care of the  Beats panel works but there doesn't seem to be any other way of adjusting the frequency aspects of the sound (i.e. no equalizer).   Usually the built in audio has some way of adjusting things but looks like Beats disabled it.    From the control panel,  Beats isn't something you can remove. 

 

Any ideas?

After upgrading to Win 8.1, I moved on to Win 10. With some difficulties, I managed to get the computer up and runing. Actually, it worked just fien. Better than ever. Unfortunately, the internal microfon is not working. The speakers works fine.

 

I have now tried 'everything', more or less:

* To replace new harddisc with old win 8.1 hardisc in order to control internal wire connection to mic. No problem with the wire.

* To look for wrong settings of course. Right clicked on speaker icon etc. There is no indications of any connection. Nor with an external headset.

* To intall Microsoft genetic driver - did not help

  

I have also tried several times to install latest driver from SoundMAX and from Realtec. Even though they should be competible with win10 they will not install - error 9998.

 

Now I'm hoping for some help from this community. In advance thank you.

Hello, 

 

the audio does NOT work. I have already tried to find new drivers but the pc is telling me that it is installed the most recent version of the driver. But the audio does notwork and I am really angry about that. 

How can I fix it? Do I have to change the audio hardware?

Since Windows 10 installation a few months ago, I haven't been able to use an external subwoofer. When the sub is not plugged in, the integrated speakers work fine, but as soon as I plug in the sub, the integrated speakers turn off and I don't get sound out of the sub either. I've tried uninstalling all the audio drivers and restarting for a fresh install, but it doesn't seem to help. I believe the issue has something to do with the fact that when I go to the properties window for the device (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Manage Audio Devices, click properties for default device), the "Jack Information" says "L R [dot] Right Panel Analog Jack". Seems like this should say something about a center/sub jack?

I have no sound on my TV when I connect my 110-414 destop using the HDMI output. The only audio device installed is the Realtek High Definition Audio for playback. Can anyone help?

My HP laptop used to work perfectly and then i started having problems with Excel and I took it to a computer technician. I have since got it back and now my sound won't work at all.

 

I downloaded a new driver and the sound worked. I turned the laptop off and now when I rebooted the sound is no longer working again.

The audio plays in my laptop but without any sound. When I check in the settings it shows that the audio is playing but I can't hear even the Windows startup sound. Is it a problem with my laptop speakers or the settings?

So problem is that when i plug-in headphone jack then the sound comes laptop speakers and headphones....

when i trying set headphones as default then i cant doesnt shows no ERROR message nothing...

 

in playback tab shows headphone works but dont have no sound and when i disable speaker cant do nothing on playback tab...

 

i have tried reinstalled update buy wasnt helpfully.
