HP 27ea Audio-in not working when monitor is connected via HDMI

Hi,

So I have a new 27ea monitor and I'd like to configure my rig for seamless switching between headphones and built-in monitor speakes.

I have Razer Tiamat 7.1v2 headphones which have an audio output jack for external audio devices. They also have a button to switch audio signal between headphones themselves and external device.  It works fine with additional headphones or speakers, but when I connect 27ea to this jack using audio cable, no sound comes out of monitor speakers.

Moinitor is connected to the computer with HDMI cable and plays sounds via HDMI just fine. But switching audio output inside OS from soundcard to HDMI monitor does not work for all applications, some require restart to recognize the change. It is also not as cool as just pressing one button on headphone's audio control unit.

Monitor's audio-in however doesn't seem to work. Can I make it work, or does monitor just turn audio-in off when connected by HDMI?

Realtek Driver problem, No sound from headphones with speakers pluged in

With the latest Realtek driver and HP HD Sound installed my headphones do not work if the speakers are pluged into the rear green line out port. I assume that they should mute if I plug headphones into the front panel headphone jack. If I unplug the speakers the phones will work. I tried all the sound settings but could not fix this. Headphones don't shoe up in sound properties or devices, only speakers. I uninstalled the Realtek and HP Sound app and drivers and deleted them. I rebooted Windows 7 and let the Microsoft driver install which it did. Problem solved, when phones are pluged in the speakers would mute. Then today I wanted to record some music...Error "No Recording Device Found". I tried all the usual options in sound settings and also MS sound recorder but couldn't record. So I'm stuck. Maybe there is a legacy Realtek driver that will work?

Thanks for any help, Rick

No Audio after upgrade to Windows 10

I have this issue after upgrading from 8.1 to 10 and going through a system reset due to some driver issues (case issued by HP) with the keyboard and mouse. I performed the reset on the advice of HP and now see that there is no driver installed for the IDT Highr Definition Audio CODEC system device. I finally ended up here and thought the problem would be resolved; however, the link to the SP71569.exe file is corrupt after several attempts to download it. The directory is unzipped but without a setup file to run.A workable link would be appreciated.

Following Windows 10 re-installation, no sound output.  Speakers checked, OK and plugged in.  Speaker icon at lower right of screen shows red x.  When clicked to run troube shoot, only shows NVIDIA as option (4 times).  Running the trouble shooter returns "no speakers plugged in" - but they are!

Ran HP audio diagnostics, returned error code Q0APXH-7K891S-X87SL1-21XP03

All other PC functionality appears to be OK.

Buongiorno a tutti,

Grazie inifinite a chi mi aiuterà!

Sound cuts out when microphone is plugged in.

The sound on  my new desktop works well (built-in speakers), but when a microphone is plugged in the sound cuts out.

I have tried an alternative microphone, I have tried 4-pin instead of 3-pin jacks, to no avail.

I have tried the Troubleshooter, updating the driver, also no effect.

On the "Settings - Sound - Recording" screen, the microphone is not recognised.

What to do next, please?

hp 2.1 subwoofer popping (HP Envy Phoenix 850se)

4 months after lapse of my 2-year warranty, my hp 2.1 subwoofer has begun making popping noises, 5 -15 minutes after turning on the audio.  It had simply begun making that noise a couple of days ago, hours into my usual play of streamed music radio.  Now the noise -- each pop some milliseconds apart -- starts only a few minutes after I turn on audio, every time.  Nothing traumatic occurred, and I've usually played the system at roughly a third its volume -- juding from the position of the dial on the tethered remote.  (Realtek High Definition Audio; driver v. 6.0.1.7673, dated 11/24/2015.  Output level set to 75 in Speaker Properties window.)  Tweeters unaffected.  Is it already time for a new subwoofer?

P.S.  "Hey, Cortana" is not the problem; that's never been switched on.

No Audio Devices Showing Installed

Purchased today, and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, Virtualization Enabled.  Purchased to run VMs, etc not as main machine.

However, after running through all the updates, upgrading to Win 10 Pro, getting Hyper-V running and was cleaning up at the end, I noticed that there is not even an audio device showing in Device Manager.

I HP support assistant and looked at the specification and it shows no Sound hardware.

Is it possible the Sound Card is dead right out of the box?
