So how can I ask the question again, so that I get the answer  ...  In your reply you copied a section from the users manual that states "NOTE: When a device is connected to a headphone jack, the speakers are disabled."  

 

That makes me believe there are indeed speakers in the monitor.   But as in all assumptions, I'm trying to get clairification on this.   BECAUSE ... with nothing attached to the headphone jack, the Speaker DO NOT WORK in the Monitor.   When I turn the monitor upside down it appears that their is two vented areas that presumably the speakers are located, but I can't see them.    I am trying to ascertain whether or not this monitor is defective, as the speakers are not working right out of the box.   Please note once again, that if I do plug speakers or headphones into the headphone jack on the monitor I do get sound through both those device, so an audio signal is reaching the monitor, however when I disconnect them from the headphone jack port that according to your "NOTE" above, should enable the monitors on board speakers.   However that is NOT the case as I get No Sound.   Can I conclude by this, that the Monitor has a hardware problem?

In the Sound Playback window the AMD HDMI output is the only playback device option and shows it is enabled but not plugged in.  The speaker in the task bar has red X.  I run the trouble shooter and says no headphones are plugged in.  I have tried different ones so I don't think they are faulty.  This all happened since I reinstalled Window 10 for other issues.  They were solved but later noticed I had lost my audio.  I also had some Polk Audio speakers plugged in the back and lost those too.  Have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions without success.

I would like to connect my desktop to my monitor (which I use both as a monitor and as a TV) via a soundbar. The soundbar supports HDMI but not DVI and the desktop only has DVI, no HDMI. I have tried using a DVI to HDMI cable but can only transfer video, not audio. I have seen elesewhere that the graphics card (Intel HD 4600) can support audio. I have the latest graphics driver for the 4600. Has anyone made graphics and audio work in a similar situation?

Had HP remote working on my computer due to lack of sound.  Then all of a sudden they stopped and started saying I needed and external speaker because the Internal speaker did not exist.    https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-slimline-270-p000-desktop-pc-series/13823526/model/16177398/document/c05389680   Go to Sound and it shows USB Speakers,  Everything else in this information listing is what is included on or with this computer.  and yes it says An internal speaker is not included with integrated audio. External speakers or headphones are required to hear sound.  But below that it shows the USB external speakers.  I believe the speakers are suppose to be with it, but were not included. The remote operator called my computer a laptop while she was working with me and I believe somewhere in their information on this model there is a mix up.

Hi I have an HP ENVY Curved All-in-One PC 34-b0xx and very recently a bios update was pushed out to my computer via the HP assstant. I believe that since then te volume button on the base of the all in on no longer responds to any touch.

 

its the touch circle shaped control that you can also use to play and pause music... its just dead...

 

anyone else have this issue and any tips on how to resolve this?

Does the HP Z240 tower have any compatibility issues with sound cards?  I was thinking to use a Sound Blaster ZSBX PCIe gaming sound card. Or possibly a Sound Blaster X AE-5?

Hi,

 

For our radio broadcast we previously used Z420 workstations with a Lynx AES 16e Audio Card, where we had no issues.

 

Recently we upgraded some workstations with Z440's (Xeon E5-1620 v4 processors) and also Lynx AES16e Audio cards and now we experiencing some problems.

Sometimes during playoutwe suddenly hear a beep instead of the song playing. Also we often have small drops in the audio.

With a bit of research I saw that a lot of people recommend disabling the C-states (C1E, C3, C6 and Speedstep) in the BIOS. However this is not possible to do in the HP BIOS. How can this be done?

 

Do you maybe can think of another reason why this is happening?

Hello!

 

I bought new AIO computer, when it starts BIOS there is no white noise, when it starts Windows there it is(

When I press "mute", the noise disappears, when I turn on the sound the white noise appears

I can try to record it if you want.

 

Noise does not depend on the sound level set in the system, even at a value of 1 and at 100%, the noise sounds the same strength

 

I try to install last Realtek driver(6.0.1.8281 Rev.A) from your site to comp- no results

 

When i launch driver pack online- in proposes to upgrade the SST Controller, but i cant and there is error

There is ID of hardware- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2F0&CC_040300

 

 

maybe this is the problem ? with this driver ?

 

Or is it a problem in this series AIO ? Could you find the same device and lean your ear against the dynamics when the windows system is running to hear noise ? its very important for me.

I always work in silence and this white noise is very annoying and prevents me from working.

 

UPD: 

i dont install realtek driver to SST Audio Controller,  i try to install special driver to SST Audio Controller on chipset.

my upgrade driver programm find the update, you can see on top of the screenshot- there is old version installed(gray) and newest(green) from 12.12.2017.

 

i wrote, i have all in one computer, the speakers are built-in.

///// by the way, when i plug in the headphones to audio card, there is no noise! I think the problem is on chipset and built-in speakers.

 

i dont have UPS. but all my home digital equipment have no problems. only with hp AIO

I'm facing this problem of audio lag (generally 2-3 seconds) at the beginning of any sorts of audio/video; even though I have updated my audio driver. This problem was there since I purchased my laptop. It'll be helpful if this problem can be fixed.

after upgrading to widows 10 via best buy geek squad my audio will not work. i tried the trouble shooting all the way up to unistalling it and then clicking on the high definition driver from the list of picking my own compatible driver.

Low volume on HP ENVY 700-515xt running Windows 10 (64 bit)  connected to HP ENVY 24 via HDMI

 

On some sites, I can barely hear the playback even though the volume is set at 100%

Connecting second monitor disables audio.   Doing online tutorials on a laptop alone is a pain in the neck.

How can I handle this? Connection is by HDMI cable.
